Anti-prom

Monday, April 14th, 2014

Prom was last night in my little corner of the world. I should be a senior in high school this year and recovering from prom today, but through a series of peculiar events and life altering decisions, I started homeschooling my sophomore year and am now cut off from society and weirdly far into my college studies instead. Honestly, I don’t like the whole arranged dance thing. It feels forced. I think limos are tacky and boys look awkward in rented tuxes and petty gossiping is boring and I hate when people try to make me dance to the cupid shuffle, but I do love pretty things and random dance parties, and I will keep those values with me wherever I go. I know trends exist but I think you should wear whatever makes your little heart squeal with excitement every single day. In my case, that means pastels, lace, flowers, curls, and twirls. What makes you smile? Do it.
